Sick and Fit notes – How to ask for one
You only need a doctor’s note (also called a sick note) if you have been too ill to work for more than 7 calendar days.
Go to the NHS webpage: When do I need a sick note?
For any illness shorter than 7 days, your employer will provide you with a self-certificate form (SC2 form) to complete.
