How to organise tests and get your results.
Blood Tests
We continue to offer blood tests when requested by our clinical teams. Please contact us to book an appointment or you can attend the Newmarket Road Park & Ride drive-through service.
Click here for more information about blood tests.
Please note that if the hospital wants you to have blood tests, you will need to bring the request forms with you to your appointment.
Urine Tests
Please bring urine specimens in before 12:30pm on the same day that they are produced. Please make sure specimens are labelled with the date and your name and Date of Birth. You may have been given a form to hand in as well.
Test Results
Results of tests can take up to 5 days to come back from the laboratory or hospital. If we have a current mobile phone number for you and you have consented to us contacting you by SMS text we can inform you of results by text. We will try to contact you if any action is required but if you have not heard after 5 working days, please contact the practice.
There are various ways to view your test results:
- Use your SystmOnline account
- Use your My Chart account – find out more information about this service here.
- Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app).
- Contact your practice directly (after 9.30am to avoid the busy time in early morning)
If you have had a test which was requested by a hospital doctor, we are unlikely to receive the result, which will go instead to the hospital doctor; so you will need to wait for your follow up appointment at the hospital, use myChart or contact the specialist team directly.
