We believe that when doctors and patients work together, everyone gets better care. Here’s how we talk to you, listen to you, and ask what you think.
Why This Matters
At Mereside Medical, we want to work closely with you, our patients. We believe that when doctors and patients work together, everyone gets better care. That’s why we have created a new, inclusive Patient Group – see our Patient Group Charter to learn more.
This document explains how we talk to you, listen to you, and ask what you think. Working together helps us:
- Give you better and safer care
- Make sure you’re happy with our service
- Decide how to make our practice better
- Find out what we need to improve
- Help you stay healthy
We want to hear from you! Your ideas can help make our practice better for everyone.
How we tell you things
We know different people like to get news in different ways. So, we use many ways to share information:
- Online:
- Our website (www.meresidemedical.nhs.uk) and
- Facebook (www.facebook.com/MeresideMedical).
- Phone: Sometimes we change our phone message to tell you important news quickly.
- At the practice: Look for posters and TV screens in our waiting rooms.
- Patient Group Meetings: We have at least four patient meetings a year, usually online.
- Local newsletters: We put updates in local community newsletters, which we also share with all Parish Councils in our practice catchment areas.
- “You Said, We Did”: We tell you how we’ve made things better based on what you’ve told us.
How we listen to what you have to say
Here’s how you can tell us what you think:
- Open Evening: Once a year, you can come to meet our staff and share your ideas.
- Local events: Sometimes we go to community events to talk with people.
- Ways to give feedback:
- On our website (www.meresidemedical.nhs.uk/patient-feedback)
- In AskMyGP, once your request has been closed.
- In the practice: on paper (just ask at Reception) or look out for the QR code posters.
- Via email:
- Complaints: If you’re unhappy, please let us know. We want to fix problems. Visit or call the practice, or for more information, see our Complaints Procedure.
How we ask what you think
Sometimes we will ask what you think about specific topics through:
- Surveys: These will always be anonymous and you can fill them out:
- Online (we might text you a link).
- On paper in the practice.
- Small group talks: We might ask some patients to join a small group to talk about certain topics.
- Patient Group: This group meets often to talk about the practice and share what patients think. See our Patient Charter to learn more.

We promise to:
- Listen to your ideas with an open mind
- Answer your questions quickly
- Tell you about changes in our service
- Include you when we make big decisions
- Keep your information private and safe
- Use your feedback to make our practice better
