Patient access and inclusion

Our practices are accessible and welcoming for all patients in our community. Read how we support you to receive the care you are entitled to.

At Mereside Medical, we place huge value on equality for patients and staff. We recognise that the experience of patients and colleagues may differ because of perceptions of ‘what’ they are, rather than who they are.  Our aim is to recognise and appreciate difference in all its forms, whether visual or hidden, and to work in a way that is inclusive.

We are committed to ensuring that every patient is able to access the care that they need. This includes providing additional support for patients who may experience difficulty accessing healthcare for any number of reasons.

Below are some examples of what we have put in place already, but please let us know if you need support – just contact the practice or send us some feedback.

Interpreters – British Sign Language

We can provide BSL translators via video call or in person.

Teens and Young People

We encourage teenagers and young people to be actively involved in their own care.

While travelling outside the UK

By law, the NHS ceases to have responsibility for the medical care of patients when they leave the UK.

Veteran Friendly Accreditation
